She Shelters is an award-winning initiative to address girls missing school due to menstruation. We provide a three point solution featuring girls-only cabins in schools for changing and washing up at school, washable period underwear kits and educating on puberty and menstruation for boys and girls. Our first pilot project in Sierre Leone was completed in spring 2022, followed by an additional 3 schools in 2023, and we are now rolling out to more schools across the country.
